It greatly increases the range of reception.
This antenna works as advertised. It increased the range of my reception of airplanes from a hundred and twenty nautical miles To 216 nautical miles. Some of the reviews say the antenna does not work but the problem could be local interference like I had when I first put the antenna up. I first set the antenna up in my Home Office and noticed a great increase in the reception over the one I already had on the roof. Once I installed the antenna on my roof I noticed a great decrease in the range Of reception, it turns out that I have some sort of Local interference. I purchased one of these filters in the range Increased greatly. The 1090 Saw filter by adsb. This antenna is a great increase. Over what I was using and it’s worth the purchase.

Great upgrade!
Upgraded from the basic adsb exchange kit to this larger roof mounted option. Huge increase in range and consistency of tracking flights. As always with this stuff it’s all about location, luckily I had an unused rooftop satellite did I could dismantle and use the mount for. In the future I may add a pole to the setup for added height which should give me additional distance when tracking.

Operating well for over 2 years
My reception range is limited by geography and my antenna height more than anything, but the max range for me with this antenna and an LNA is around 350 miles. Its survived outdoors for over 2 years now with no signs of degrading (but we don’t get freezing weather). My only complaint is that its 1090mhz only. After a couple years with 1090mhz reception I’ve decided to add a 978MHz receiver to my setup for UAT reception and was hoping I could add a splitter and use the same antenna, but its not tuned for 978 reception unfortunately.

Good results right out of the box
Increased my position reports by about 40% over indoor antenna. I’m in a valley so it’s always going to be tough but I’m very satisfied. Installed at about 20 feet agl.

Respectable Performance… Routinely picks up 150nm from the Delaware Coast
Mounted on a 20ft extendable flag pole to ADSB Blue Pro dongle to PiAware. Routinely picks up 150 nm, but that’s about where it drops… will pick up the occasional plane at a longer distance (167nm is the furthest) About the same performance as my 1/4 Wave DIY with 4 element ground plane antenna at the same height (177nm is the furthest)… Respectable, but given it performs roughly the same as one I built with parts from a junk box, not sure I would invest the $90 again…

Great option, I’ve tested many
I’m using this for UAT 978 MHz. It works a tiny bit better than the FA 978 antenna and better than all the other 978 antennas I’ve tested over a few years. It is longer at almost 4 feet tall (with higher gain) which can be bad if you live in a higher noise area. Works great in rural noise isolation.I didn’t use the cable that came with this antenna. If I recall correctly the cable that came with this is not really low loss. For anything UHF you want the highest quality cable for your budget, unless the cable run will be short.
