The quality on this is pretty good, good stitching and the orange has good visibility. I am waiting on a 10″ mount so I can install this on the top corner of my hangar since I’m down near the end of the runway and the only other windsock is in the center of the runway. the 10″ is small, but I think it’s perfect as a secondary windsock to glance at on final when I’m getting close.

Smaller than Regulation
I find this to be a well made windsock. The colors are a high visibility orange and white. The sewing is all heavy duty. I would take the “FAA Compliant” with a grain of salt. The regulations that I found put the smallest size windsock at 8ft long by 18 inches in diameter, considerably larger than this version. I also note that I have not tested to see if this fully extends at 15 knots (and no sooner). The company that makes this has a 10″ frame for sale on their website, but I cannot find it on Amazon. Frames are essential for an FAA compliant windsock as they maintain an open throat, rotate freely with the wind, and keep the windsock straight for a minimum of 3/8s the length of the windsock.

Great windsock and great stitching
This windsock is very well made. I love that it comes in such a bright orange and white color and the sewing is very heavy duty. It is very easy to mount and it even comes with instructions. It has been able to withstand some heavy storms so far and seems to be a great value for the money. As with all windsocks, I could see this fading in color over the years, but for now, it’s a beauty!
