Customers say

Customers find the headset’s sound quality crystal clear, comfortable to wear, and appreciate its great battery life that lasts through an 8-hour shift. The noise cancellation receives mixed feedback, with some praising its awesome performance while others find it not as great. The functionality and connectivity also receive mixed reviews – while some report it works right out of the box, others mention it stops working after a few weeks and has connection issues. The compatibility with Teams is particularly problematic, with multiple customers reporting it doesn’t reliably work with the platform.

    Great Linux Support
Arch Linux (Kernel 6.3.9, PulseAudio 16.1).Simply put, this works great. Using the included BT700 USB-A bluetooth adapter (comes pre-paired with the Voyager 4310 UC headset). I also paired the headset to my Android device. Connecting to both devices simultaneously is easy and works great. The included BT700 bluetooth adapter has the advantage of providing an LED status indicator. The LED on the BT700 is BLUE when connected, RED when mic is muted, and OFF when the headset is off. This visual feedback is quite nice, especially since the mute button (located on the microphone boom) is a momentary switch. The headset will additionally announce (vocally) that the microphone is muted when the momentary switch is pressed and will, likewise, announce that the mic is unmuted if pressed again. If you attempt to speak into the mic while muted, the headset will provide you with vocal reminder that you are muted. This is all done in hardware. It is important to note that if no application is currently using the mic as an input device, the mute button on the headset will do nothing. It is not broken. Just connect to a Zoom call, a Discord voice channel, or even your system’s audio control panel (anything that actively read’s from the mic) and the mute button will work fine as intended.Headset earpiece volume is controlled independently of the current main system output volume using the + and – button on the earpiece. This is very nice if your computer uses speakers at the primary output device but you have set your voice/video app to use the headset for output. The kernel will adjust the headset’s reported volume level as a result of pressing these buttons (+ and -), not the currently selected primary output device. This is an incredibly nice touch. On this topic, Poly’s Acoustic Fence technology works surprisingly well. Playing reasonably loud music through my computer speakers, people I’m speaking to through the headset can only hear my voice. Microphone quality is clear with good dynamic range. Acoustic Fence does not appear to provide a “muffled” sound like some other noise cancelling microphones I have used.Audio quality through the earpiece is astonishingly good when using the included BT700 dongle. Bass is surprisingly good, dynamic range overall is good. Sound comes through very clear. You can happily listen to music. The sound is not “tinny”Charging stand is great. Very nice weighting — it won’t slide around your desk unless you move it. Docking and undocking is fast and simple. Connection is facilitated through an additional set of 5 contacts, which are well hidden on the headset. Insertion force is zero. Headset is nicely guided into position. No glaring design issues.Overall a strong recommend if you run Linux (or don’t). Truly an amazing headset.

Some minor issues, but overall very satisfied
Pros• High quality construction• Light, comfortable even after hours of use• Audio indication of mute on / mute off. This may not be important for all headset users, but in a business environment, it’s extremely important.• Audio indication of battery level and PC connection state• Can answer & disconnect TEAMS calls from the headset, as well as mute / unmute and volume up/down. The mute state tracks on Teams too (your own screen as well as other meeting participants), it’s not simply turning off the microphone.• Excellent sound quality from both the mic & speaker.Cons• Minimal instructions provided the box, just a card that tells you to download and install “Poly Lens” software.• Poly Lens says to update the firmware on the BT700 and the headset.• Firmware update on headset failed 5 times before 6th attempt was successful.• Contacted support via email after the fifth try – never got any response.• When you turn the phone on, although it automatically connects to the PC, it doesn’t change the device setting in windows, you must remember to do this manually. I can imagine that might be desirable for some users, it’s just an extra step for me. Similarly, when you turn the phone off, Windows still shows “Poly BT700” as the audio device, so you must manually select a different device.• Biggest complaint — there are no instructions to let you know you must download & install the “Plantronics Hub” software to configure the headset to work with Teams. I only stumbled upon that information by reviewing the questions & answers here on Amazon. This may seem like a long list, but they are all minor and are mostly one-time issues only relate to installation, not day-to-day operation, so I have not reduced my rating of the product.Observation — Wireless RangeI was initially very disappointed by the range of the wireless connection; conversations began getting choppy at 20 feet and dropped entirely much beyond that. Since the specs call out a range of 164 feet, I was getting ready to return the unit. Then I realized that the physical location of the BT700 might be contributing to the problem, since two desktop computers stood between it and the headset when I conducted my tests. Instead of connecting it directly to my laptop, I added a 4-foot USB extension, enabling me to position it on the other side of those computers. This completely resolved the issue; I’ve tested out to 150 feet and the audio quality remains excellent. If you have problems with range, try the USB extension approach and experiment the position of the BT700.

    Love
Absolutely amazing! The ear cushion is extremely soft and so is the other side that rests on your head. The audio is crisp and it truly is noise canceling. I tested different extremely loud sounds and the person couldn’t hear a thing. The set up was very quick.

    It’s Now A Brick
UPDATE. I have had this headset for less than 18 months and it is essentially unusable. Even connected via the wire, no sound is heard. It’s worthless.I’ve had this headset for about a month and have used it every day for remote work.Pros: The sound is good. Easy Plug & Play. Works well between Zoom and MS Teams. Battery lasts a long time! Volume adjusted on the headset adjusts the system also. Mute button on the bottom of the mic boom is very convenient when the dog sees the mailman.Cons: If you’re sitting upright 100% of the time, all is well. If you bend over to pick up that cookie you dropped, the headset will fall off. Also, the device talks as much as my coworkers. “Mute On”. “Mute Off”. “Muted”. This often makes listening to the actual conversation difficult, especially when I just want to eat my cookie while in a meeting.Another con: The notification sounds are no longer coming through the headset. If I don’t have eyes on my screen at all times, I miss notifications. This is a bummer. It’s a little better than the cheap headsets and not as good as it should be at this cost.

    Great noise control
This has great noise cancellation. I use it for work so I’m typically on it 8hrs a day and I charge it every three days so it has good battery life. I’ve purchased it before and had it for a year when it started having issues. Would keep buying though because this allows me to walk around and not stay stationary at the desk.

These headsets were a huge disappointment. The sound quality was amazing, however, I had many complaints that people could not hear me properly or I sounded echoey. No one could hear me on teams even though I could hear clearly. Was very frustrating and will return.

I work from home and needed a decent wireless headset for Teams meetings. Good sound quality, holds charge for a long time, nice robust headset that looks and feels professional and easy to use charging stand. Would buy again.
