Peace of Mind when traveling
I haven’t had to use the unit, so I can’t comment on how well it works or not. I did use the test function, and that worked perfectly.Registration was quick and easy, although I’m still waiting for the written confirmation from the Feds that they have the registration information. This provides an additional bit of comfort while I’m out on extended motorcycle trips (9,000 miles over about a four week period this summer). Knowing that if something goes terribly wrong, I have a good chance of being rescued makes traveling seem a bit safer.Nicely packaged system, easy to deploy, and light weight. I do wish they had a couple of other mounting/carrying options. One I borrowed a few years ago had a nice Velcro strap that allowed me to fasten it to my arm. This one lives in the pocket of my jacket. Not quite as easy to get to in an emergency.Between this and the SPOT for tracking my trips, my family and friends know where I am and that I’m safe.Highly recommended.

Expensive Gear You Need But Never Want to Use
One of those safety devices that you never want to use. But I sail offshore and manage the risk with both an EPIRB and PLB. Nothing beats keeping your boat in good repair, but even strong boats and good captains can be surprised by weather or other hazards – especially at night. The small size works perfectly with my Mustang self inflating life vest.

As advertised
Great. As advertised.

added peace of mind
Great addition to a boat, especially if you go offshore. Easy to activate.

Worth the piece of mind
Nice compact unit. Fortunately haven’t had to test it! Waterproof and sturdy. Occasionally the antenna would pop out but that’s solved with a rubber band.

Can’t wait to use it!
Actually I hope never to use it, but if the need arose I suspect this unit would be helpful. This replaces a McMurdo Fast Find which I’ve had for 8 years and never used. The battery in the Fast Find still shows full charge after all these years, but I thought it best to replace and upgrade. Both are fine units, I just appreciated the longer signal life on the ResQLink. The only downside is the belt clip is close to impossible (don’t give up) to attach to the unit and for all the trouble the closure on the belt clip is too wide and doesn’t stay on your belt or pack. Also, the antenna can and does deploy when thrown in a bag or pack. Not a big deal, just an inconvenience.
