IFR plate book when screen goes dark.
Increased number of pages from 3 to 4. More durable materials to hold plates. I still use paper approach plates, SID, STAR, airport diagrams as a backup. Better to have them organized when the screen goes dark😳

I do not recommend buying it, it is very bad. It is a small notebook and its price is expensive.

Mostly OK but read on
The binder does what it is supposed to do, with a major limitation.It organizes well in the order of your flight or trip ( Departure – Destination – Alternate ).It also has some handy already printed “CHEAT SHEETS” like what to do if you lose COMMS , what are alternate filing requirements etc.My biggest complaint is if you have kept anything with print on it for an extended period of time inside the vinyl sleeves, the way you are supposed to, the ink from the approach plates, checklists, performance charts just about anything that comes off a printer will stick to the vinyl sleeve and good luck getting rid of it. When you insert a new or different plate in the sleeve, it is almost impossible to read. See the pictures. it would be nice if the sleeve material was different.I know that now that EFBs are available who needs plates in paper form, I just like them not only as a backup for approach plates but I keep my airplane’s performance charts checklists etc in one place for quick reference. I use Foreflight but still like paper. Old School I guess.Pictures I have included do not have anything in the sleeves. These are pictures of what you are left with when youremove an old plate or whatever was inside the sleeve. Hope this helps

Organizer Easy to Flip to Information Needed
My husband is considering getting instrument rated soon. It would open up more opportunities to fly. I ordered this IFR flight binder to help him get started. He currently uses a knee board and a mini iPad.These are his thoughts on the binder:1) He likes that the binder has flexible cover and can easily be folded in half for storage while flying.2) There are 16 sheet protectors for storing his Jepperson plates. He likes that the opening is on the side, because who has time to fumble with top-loading sheet protectors while flying? The sheet protectors are not clear; they have a slight matted finish, but it doesn’t obscure the small print of the plates.3) There are 4 tabs: Departure, Destination, Alternate, and Other. The font is large and easy to read for at-a-glance. The front cover has a side cut out, so that tabs can be referred to easily.4) The spiral binding is durable, and pages easily fold back.As a private pilot, he believes this would be an useful organizer when he gets instrument rated. It gets a 5- stars rating from him.

Nice planner!
My boyfriend is in flight school and I got this for him as a gift. He seems to really like it and is excited for when he gets to use it! It seems well-organized and high-quality. I’m very happy with the tabs and features that this offers, and I’m happy that it made for a good gift!

I really like the tabs (Departure, Destination, Alternate, Other)! Having a place to put your plates where they are easily accessible is great!The protective envelopes open from the side, not the top. Smart design!The tabs contain “cheat sheet” data which is handy: what are the IFR currency requirements? What are the alternate weather requirements?I would have liked something that would permit me to capture my clearance (“CRAFT”) but this is a chart organizer not an IFR flight organizer I suppose.
