Awesome Alpaka Strikes Again
I’ve got a few Alpaka bags that came with a standard strap, which is comfortable on its own, but wanted something for when I’m carrying heavier loads with my camera for longer periods of time. This is vital for when it is a hot sweaty day or rain arrives and things get a bit wet. No one likes chafing anywhere on your body. The strap adjusts on both sides of the padding so your load can stay balanced. I prefer to carry heavier loads crossbody on my 2X frame. I have a 50″ bust, so the strap really adjusts for nearly every body type. I love the clasps on this. They rotate to keep your load level and move with you and your load. Their mounting system is quality. They lock firmly in place and don’t fail. Alpaka has really done its homework, listens to their customers, and makes improvements across all of their products all the time. They are an amazing small business innovating with the times and needs of their customers. This strap is a reflection of their quality and innovation at work.

Great replaceable strap that goes with any bag in the Alpaka ecosystem!
This strap is super comfortable. I have an injured shoulder, a labrum tear, which is torn cartilage. Putting any kind of weight on that shoulder leads to some pretty gnarly pain for me.But the padding on this strap is so good that it never irritates me.I use it for the full size Alpaka tote and it just snaps on perfectly. I love how all alpaca pieces are basically interchangeable so that if you ever replace a piece or change it out, all the accessories play nicely together. I also love the mission behind Alpaka goods. It’s all about reducing the amount of new materials and plastics introduced into the system. I can always get behind that.

I got this shoulder strap to make the current strap on the flight sling more padded. The strap that comes with this upgrade is pretty much the same as the original supplied strap so the only upgrade is the padded area.The Padding is thick and soft and definately makes the strap more comfy to use, but just seems like a waste of have 2 base strap now.

This is a very well-made shoulder strap that you can use for just about everything! I really like how comfortable the padded neck strap itself is; it provides just the right amount of cushion! The strap itself is adjustable and the swivelling buckle rotates. The black nylon webbed strap itself is very nondescript, which helps to keep this from contrasting with whatever you plan on pairing it with. Highly recommend.

It’s longer than the original straps but does the job well. But if you want it tight to your body you’ll need to use the original.

Great idea. Poor execution. The stitching isn’t straight in some places on the shoulder pad. The shoulder pad material itself feels is made of Alpaka’s proprietary material Axogrid on top and some flimsy feeling material on bottom. The bottom material reminds me of the stuff used to make sponge filters. The whole strap itself is the Alpaka standard thin strap which is disappointing. I was hoping it would be made a lot wider. The strap adjusts from both sides and it adjusts to a nice long length which is nice if you’re tall. As Alpaka is known for, this strap is MagLockz so your bag must have MagLockz in order to attach. I feel like this strap could have been done better. I wouldn’t recommend this item until Alpaka fixes a few things mentioned above.
