Fantastic watch, marginal band.
I’ve owned this watch for 7 years and it’s one of my favorite watches to wear. As you can see I liked it so much I bought a black version too. It’s very accurate, and it’s big but doesn’t feel that big on the wrist. It’s not as heavy as it looks and sits flat. One of the things I like is the way the date is displayed. Showing 3 dates at a time really helps the acuity. Even though I have 20/20 vision sometimes on other watches, especially with a date window surround by a raised lip meant to match the raised indices, it can be difficult to distinguish 16 from 18 of there if a shadow. I can read the date in a quick glance. The capacitor hasn’t degraded noticeably but I have another Citizen watch with the same movement that is 15 years old and will probably need a new capacitor in a couple-three years. Now for the one thing I don’t like about this watch, the strap. The worse part are the strap loops, they’re made from very stretchy leather and will become virtually useless in a short amount of time. On the black watch (which also has an identical strap) I went as far as replacing the loops with veg-tanned leather myself. I like the thickness just fine, but also the color in real life looks more like a baby poop tan, and not as nice as in the pictures. Also the surface treatment of the leather is “plasticky”… It just doesn’t agree well. Over the years I’ve switched the strap around a couple of times and even put the watch on a bund strap…it looks perfect on a bund strap by the way. I hope Citizen has updated the strap and the leather if they’re going to be bragging about it. All in all a great watch if you don’t mind switching the strap.

Cool watch, accurate, reliable.
Bought this in 2019. Very accurate, keeps great time, looks cool. Slap an orange strap on this and brings out the orange in the hour hand and the hour markings on the inner “hour” dial. Love the Eco-Drive (solar powered) feature. Never problematic. Love mine, you’ll love too. Wear with jeans or dress it up.

10yrs & going strong!
I’ve owned this watch for close to 10yrs now. The watch is fantastic & is still going strong with no servicing. I have another Ecodrive that is going on 13yrs with no issues. The things just work and look great. Only negative is the mineral crystal. It has held up fairly well, but it will definitely pick up surface scratches. But that is to be expected. Buy different color straps and enjoy.

Grab it when it goes on special – Classy and Timeless
Before I start, just a confirm that I had to buy this out of my hard earned cash – sadly no one has ever tried to bribe me with paid reviews – at this point am starting to wonder what it is about me that people don’t want to shower me with free promo gifts that many other reviewer seem to get? I wonder if my reputation as a cheap skate has gotten out of the bag?At the time of writing (Sep 2025) this watch is overpriced. I’ve bought three of these watches as gifts at $55 when they go on special so if you have the time, wait until then – I think it’s a bargain at that price but admittedly those purchases were in 2019 and 2018. For me, Citizen is a really solid brand and I’m a Citizen / Seiko kind of chap – just don’t have the money or need to go any higher than this.The reason I used this watch as a gift for my nephews is because it’s a really classy and solid watch. When I say classy – I mean timeless, clean lines, well organised, not bling bling / garish or replete with 10,000 different insignia and unnecessary dials – YES we need to tell the time, NO we are not dive instructors or test pilots in the 50’s. Mr Dingo is not at home to cheesy.Also Citizen has a great reputation for reliability so that’s fulfilling my basic rules:1. Give a gift that you would appreciate yourself and in some way shows your values2. Never give junk3. Make sure it’s reliable and usefulIs there a downside? Yes…. the leather strap – hence my 4 stars – it is as many have reported, very thick and just doesn’t tuck away well at the bottom. The loops also break. Now if this is going to be your “special occasion” watch, no worries, but if you are going to wear this every day that strap will be a pain. I wouldn’t wear it everyday though – it’s a little too special to be scratched up.So I love the watch piece – it has depth to it, is clear to read, is solar and has clean lines. It’s the strap that is the minor downer, but apart from that this watch should give great timeless (???) service for many years.hthDingo

Awesome value!
First of all it’s a Citizen eco-drive don’t need to say anymore! It’s a stunning flieger B-Uhr type and very comfortable to wear if you have a bigger wrist. For me 45mm is a perfect fit. I like the brush / polished case combo. The only complaint was the super thick, stiff band which I immediately replaced no biggie. All in all it’s a beautiful nicely done flieger that you’ll be happy with. I wear this more than my more expensive watches and get a lot of compliments as well. On sale I bought it for $140.00 and i would have bought it at full price.

Nice size and fits good. Nice that the company is making the watches bigger and with leather straps that actually make it around your wrist unlike some other high-end watch makers that are selling 40.5mm watches with straps to short to wrap around a man’s wrist!!

Great gift idea
I purchased this as a gift for my partner and they love it! It’s casual enough for daily use and dressy enough for use at work. The picture of the product doesn’t do the dial justice…the blue tone looks great.

Me encantó este producto porque, además de estar aun muy buen precio, su acabado es buenísimo: ÉSTE RELOJ NUNCA VA A NECESITAR DE UNA PILA, las escalas numéricas son fáciles de leer y todas de gran utilidad, tanto la de las horas como las de minutos y segundos, su extensible puede estar muy duro las primeras veces que se use, pero con el tiempo va a ir aflojando y es muy cómodo. Beautiful watch, but unfortunately one that will annoy me every time i look at it. You see, the seconds hand doesn’t hit the line marks 80% of the time. What’s worst, it doesn’t land straight in the middle of the triangle 12 o’clock mark. Poor craftsmanship. My first citizen watch, and it’s a big disappointment. See the video for yourself. Don’t take my word for it.

For the price you pay, this is the best pilot style watch available on Amazon, the numbers are clearly labled and easy to read, and the arms are accurate and precise. I think the brown band that comes with the watch goes very well on slightly darker skin tones, and it has a pleasant texture. The crown of the watch is large and makes for easy adjustment, and the date counter on the right-hand side of the dial is a nice touch as well. The glass is reasonably scratch resistant, and the aluminum build gives the watch some weight that makes it feel more premium. Citizen makes quality watches I’ve found, and they are usually at good prices compared to similar options on the market.
