Great for dachshunds – very secure O-Ring
I’ve purchased 5 of these. 1 in XS for my 11 lb mini-dachshund based on the measurements provided, but it was too small length-wise and a tad too tight. [I gave it to my sister for her chihuahua and it fits her (7lbs).] The Small fits my girl beautifully. The Medium fits my standard dachshund well (20 lbs). The purple color isn’t true to the color on my computer screen but it is fine – more of a medium shade of lavender.If the company reads this – my wish is to have more colors! Black won’t work on my black dog plus I walk them early in the morning or late in the evening. The colors needs to be brighter so they are visible – they are muted colors. Hunter orange would be great. Kermit the Frog green would be great. Bright blue and purple and yellow. I’ve used these for about 4 or 5 weeks now and need more b/c my dogs are low to the ground and the hoodies need to be frequently washed. They do well in the washer and dryer – little to no shrinking.The O-Ring is holding up!! My standard dachshund is a puller and I am so grateful that these are stitched on so well. Since I live in a city, I am concerned that the connection point will give out and then he’ll run into the street after a squirrel and get away from me and/or hit by a car. That is why that feature is SO important to me. I inspect them before we walk just to be sure they are secure, and I’m very pleased so far that they’re holding up.Thank you! Great product!

Very soft. Well constructed and cut for a dog.
These are very soft. More of a micro fleece than a traditional cotton hoodie. They are a little tricky to get on but the larger leg holes help make it happen. I bought XL’s for my 75lb Bull Terriers and they are pretty snug on the chest and neck but seem true to dimension. I didn’t want to size up bc I knew the length would be too long…I’d rather it be a little snug than too long in the back where it would end up getting urinated on. There is a nice “dog cut” to prevent the hoodie from interfering with potty time. These are soft and comfy and my dogs seem to enjoy wearing them.My big take away from these being 5 star is the hood…I removed one star b/c the hood is huge with no traditional tie sewn in… Occasionally during play time the hood would flop up over their head and completely obstruct their view and need my help to get it off their face. A sewn in tie would remedy this 🙁 … I will probably sew on some velcro to keep the hood down when needed.

Sizing’s a Challenge (What breeds do you consider X/L? vs. What breeds would need XXL?)
Appreciate the color choices; fabric was precisely as pictured. But sizing these (and all dog sweaters) leaves much to be desired. Wish sellers offered more pics of more breeds and/or general recommendations for what size is standard for which dog breed. (For instance, I live with Great Pyrenees, one of which experienced hair loss, now growing back; so having something to keep her warm while it grows in (and temps drop) seemed simple enough, but sadly I’m learning no two dog size charts are the same (Large and x-tra large items ordered in days past w/other companies got returned for being too small, so I went XX-large (via this chart anyway) and it was HUGE (as in Great Dane huge…Not Great Pyrenees huge). Sadly I’m back to returning purchases again. With no way of guessing if I need to knock things down one size or two. So I guess the lesson is some things are best bought in person. But I did love the variety of colors… And this style would’ve been perfect for our holiday rounds. Oh well.

XXL for a 50lb poodley doodle
The XXL fit my 50lb doodle perfectly. It’s super soft and stretchy to get her senior legs into it. It is the perfect base for her Derpy Tiger costume.

Mom and dog approved!
I bought this for a fall trip to the ocean. Our dog has very short fur and she normally doesn’t get that cold necessarily, but every harness known to man will rub on her chest and leave it chafed. We’ve tried everything and the only thing that works is a “shirt”. I can say that where the loophole is on the back of this it’s a good thing that we weren’t using the harness under the shirt, because the hole is up by the collar and not down between the shoulder blades. Wouldn’t have worked well for our purposes.We went to the ocean and it was cold, it was windy and she was perfectly toasty and adorable. She received many compliments on her pretty purple fleece. Someone said in the comments that their dog reminds them of a Jedi with the hood up and we second this. 😂😂The length is a tad long on her but it ended up being a fine enough length that she didn’t pee on it. While I was grateful for the long length of fabric on the belly it may have been a little too long if she was a boy, I think the length could possibly interfere with doing business if your dogs body is as long as hers. She has a 19.5” neck, a 29” huge barrel chest and she is 23” from base of neck to start of tail. It’s difficult finding things that fit that big chest and this definitely fit the bill. Two days at the ocean running around and rolling in the sand and this was perfect. I recommend putting paws in first and then the head, and it was stretchy enough to just slide right on, which was great because she normally hates wearing clothes. I think this will be a perfect layer for this winter… I’m going to wait and see how well it dries out and holds up to a dog that loves the snow. I’ll update my review in a few months- if it holds up I’ll get another for a backup.
