Just what I needed in a smoke detector
First Alert is the best company for smoke detectors. We had our house inspected and were told that we should have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors outside all of the bathrooms. I had mistakenly replaced them with some that didn’t have the carbon monoxide detector, so I ordered these. They arrived quickly and were easy to replace. Installation was super easy. Typically I change the battery every 2-3 years as they are long lasting. They don’t go out before then. It’s easy to see if they are working with the colored dot. They are loud as you’d expect for a smoke detector. I only buy First Alert as they are the best in quality.

Very Reliable Alarm And Value
Very reliable and dependable alarm at a great value. Easy to install, long battery life. Seems to be very sensitive sensors (which is a good thing), as just very little smoke from cooking can set it off. Loud enough to wake anyone up. Warning beep alerts when battery is low. We use these in our home, and our rental properties. High quality from a name brand at a fair price.SLEEP EASY WITH PEACE OF MIND.

Beware: connectors are different from old model
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I had the same model already in the house so I assumed the new ones would fit with no problem. I was soooo wrong, when I got them I saw the connectors are different which makes no sense if you are replacing the same model. If they changed the way it connects they should put the new type of connectors in the box or mention that the old version can’t connect to the new one. So if you want to install you need to buy those separately which is ridiculous.

I purchased two of these to replace a different battery operated brand that was apparently discontinued and their ten year “no hassle” one had bad reviews. Thanks to their multiple hole bracket, I didn’t have to drill new holes to install them and there’s a side door to easily access the battery, which is supplied with the unit. It’s also a Duracell, which is a plus.
