Works well.
Holds my 11 inch iPad with cover. I like the swivel to change between portrait and landscape. Still working out how I will use the paper and clipboard. Pen holders work well.I fly a Comanche 250.Side pocket is small, I haven’t used it.The flip cover is OK, holds the small clipboard included. Pre-written notes fit under the clear plastic that flips over the iPad. The leg strap is large and works for me. 6’4″ 280 lbs.

Form and function
Holds my 10.5″ ipad perfectly and pockets, eyelets and clipboard are great. the side pocket would be better if it could hold an iPhone (if it had elastic in the bottom it would be perfect for large phones. Pen pockets are good but not good for an apple pen. Use is great. Works in plane or in the car.

Very nice kneeboard… but…
I read the reviews and noted the cons, but I thought the pros may have won the match. Honestly, I’m struggling with whether I want to return this kneeboard. Perhaps typing this review will help me make up my mind. The excitement of perhaps finding the ‘perfect’ kneeboard that would allow me to use both my iPad on my knee and the old-fashioned clipboard with real paper and pen. Yes, I’m an old-fashioned pilot struggling to join the new age of technology in the cockpit. I’d found the perfect blend of both old and new in one product with a few bonuses. One of the first things I did was remove the ring binder spine for the approach plate/plastic sleeves. I keep plates printed for each flight and of course have the EFB full of plates as well. Next, I pulled my iPad from its very secure case it resides in normally and prepared it for mounting on this kneeboard. I started with the bottom retainers. A little stretch and these small but mighty retainers hold the iPad well. I moved to the top of the iPad and placed the left one on first. I could feel how very secure the iPad was in its mount. Finally, the top right corner where there is a very important button on the top of the iPad. The retainer in this position puts pressure on the button. (see attached images) I can shift it around a little to keep pressure off of the button but I could see this as being an issue while in the soup, on an approach, or bouncing around. The time for the iPad to go into standby mode is NOT in these three situations. My first ‘con’. The retainer clip on the top right corner.Secondly, I placed my iPhone 12 Max in the pocket on the right side of the kneeboard. The phone fits in the pocket width-wise, however, the problem with this pocket is that the velcro strip does not secure the phone inserted in the pocket. The flap on the pocket needs to be about 2″ longer (see attached images). Again, on a bumpy ride I can see the phone slipping out of the pocket and becoming a distraction or getting stomped on as it makes its way to the rudder pedals as my luck would have it.My second ‘con’. The phone pocket is too short. .Although not a deal killer, my third con is that I can’t fold everything back onto itself as if to close it and use the velcro elastic leg band to hold it closed for storage. In every knee board/pocket device I’ve had before the two flaps that hang on either side of my leg fold back over the writing pad and the leg strap fits around it all to bundle it for storage and prevent losing something or making a mess. Again, not a deal killer, but an idea for design improvement. The pro’s for this board. Well, it sure feels sturdy. The construction of it feels like it will last quite a while. The ability to fold the notepad flap over the iPad, have a solid surface to write on while not damaging the iPad, and the ease of going back and forth between paper and EFB is a definite plus. The ability to spin the iPad while it is mounted in the retainers was an awesome little idea as well. Need to see your charts in landscape? No problem. Just spin the iPad in place. Note that the notepad won’t go back over the iPad while it is in landscape but not a deal killer at all.I do like the idea of having a dedicated closing pocket for your cell phone. Had the flap reached and secured the phone in place, this would most certainly be an added benefit. The velcro pen holders would be handy in flight during bumpy times but again, with pens in the holder in their own landscape position doesn’t allow for the closing of the kneepad. These are velcro’d to the flap and can. be turned but then you may lose room for the cell phone pocket. There are two more document pockets available too. One, behind the notepad. Just be careful not to have staples or binder clips on those documents as they will rest on the screen of the iPad when the notepad is being used. The second behind the velcro’d pen and cell phone holder. Handy little pockets for checklists or other needed documents for the flight.I really want to keep this kneeboard but I am afraid the retainer clip on the iPad pressing against the button on the iPad may just put me over the edge and return it to Amazon. Perhaps the designer can make the clips a little wider to avoid making contact with the buttons? I don’t know.

Good, but significant design flaw!
I purchased this because I am in search of the perfect one board for flying. I like the design of this as it offers plenty of space for accessories such as phone, extra chords, battery pack, etc…. There’s only one very major flaw. The hooks on the corner that hold the iPad in place are directly in the same place as the power and volume buttons. This cause the iPad to constantly take a screen shot or activate Siri. It actually makes the one board inoperable.

Best knee board for yokes
Really useful to if you’re flying with a yoke. It allows you switch which leg you want the clip board on if you fly as an instructor in the right seat. The clip board even has some basic FAR information on there that you actually use during flights. It has a pencils holders if you’re more old fashioned when writing down read backs as well rather than using your IPad.
