Personal Item Luggage for the Adult Traveler
I bought the TravelPro VersaPack+ and the TravelPro Crew Classic. My intent was to keep one and return the other. They looked similar online but there was an approximately $40 price differential and I needed to understand why that was the case. First, what led me to these items? I’m a frequent air traveler. I fly back and forth to my home every 2 weeks so my stuff is split between my house and my apartment. And since the airline charges for overhead items, might as well travel as light as possible. Since these bags both fit under the seat they fall into the “personal item” category. I already owned a personal item bag but it was seriously lacking in form, function and style. I wanted to upgrade. After doing (unnecessarily exhaustive) research I discovered the VersaPack+ and ordered it. The price (to me) was steep but since I travel so often I felt it may be worth spending a little more for something decent. And decent it is. It’s actually quite a bag. Very sturdy, thick, looks great, and is the optimal size for a personal item (pretty much as large as it can get without having to go overhead).A few days later I received the Crew Classic. It’s basically the exact same bag – same size, same configuration. The primary difference is the heft (the thickness). The VersaPack+ is much thicker and sturdier. And since the CrewClassic is also a plus $100 bag, I figure might as well just pay the extra $40 and get the better one. The issue I see with luggage, in general, is this: bags are either flimsy and dysfunctional or sturdy and utilitarian – but there isn’t much gradience when it comes to the price. Anything that falls into the “quality” bucket is going to cost an order of magnitude more than the basic. However, I believe if you truly intend to use the luggage more than once a year, you’re probably better off with the higher quality version.Anyway, the sturdiness of the VersaPack+ makes it incredibly easy to pack and unpack (as it always retains its form), as well as quickly access to sneak items in and out (like when you’re cramped on a 737 and need to, say, grab a book – in other words you can do it with one hand and not necessarily have to pull the bag off the floor). The other thing I really like about this bag is the aesthetics. For something so functional, it looks like something a commercial pilot might carry. No more backpacks – you’re not in third grade. The bottom line: If it’s within your budget, do yourself a favor and upgrade to quality adult luggage. You (probably) deserve it.

Love the quality and color
I already have luggage from TravelPro, now hubby needs pieces too. The green color is quite attractive, distinctive without being flashy. I like the big open space inside, the two outside pockets provide great organization and functionality. Quality fabric is quite durable, and the zippers pull smoothly. I was surprised the pocket to fit on top of your luggage handle didn’t have a zippered top or bottom zipper to convert it to a pocket like my other set does. Size is just right for under seat storage. This brand is cost more than others, but worth the price given the quality. If it performs like my other set, it always looks nice and does not damage easily.

Nicely designed. Well made and functional
Great! Well-made, sturdy. I like that this bag retains its’ shape and holds quite a bit. It has four rubber feet on the bottom so no tipping of the bag was noted. It fits under the plane seat easily and the handles and long strap are comfortable to use. I like the pockets too-very functional. The zippers worked well. If I’m being picky, I wish there was a water bottle holder on the side (could also be used for an umbrella). Also, even though the handles were comfortable, they are not able to be attached to one another. I may end up buying a Velcro handle holder in the future.

Good design
I have not used this bag yet for travel, but think it is well designed with useful pockets.

Great little bag.
I looked at a million different options before buying this bag to use as my personal item on our trip to Europe. I did exactly what I needed it to do: held my toiletries, purse, and electronics, and it fit under the seat on the plane. I wish it had a pocket for a water bottle, but I survived without one.

Compact, Convenient, Carryon “Over-the-Handle” Bag
For me, it’s the perfect size to fit over the handle of my carryon suitcase and sit on top of it without shifting . The slot on the back of the bag allows for a quick and secure fit over the handle of my carryon. I travel through the airport easily. The front pocket holds my iPad and cords. I had plenty of room for other items. It fit perfectly under the seat in front of me on the plane. I like it so much that I’m buying one for other family members.

A mixed bag
I had an earlier version of this bag, which had three outside pockets—one on the front of the bag and one on each end—and two of them were equipped with zippers. I used it only to carry incidentals—books, magazines, medications, etc.—when I traveled. This bag has only one outside pocket. That pocket does have a zipper, which is a good thing. But I miss the additional pockets and the quick access they offered for retrieving a pill or a pen. So I much preferred the old bag, which I’m replacing only because it finally gave out. The new one seems sturdy and like the other one it does have an inside pocket. So it’s okay, but not ideal.
