Consistent, comfortable weight; I put bandana under pad 2 prevent ring around the collar.
I have another heating pad in same design as this one. It is also weighted but it has heavy stone disc’s inside the entire pad.It’s much too heavy & uncomfortable.But you need some weight in a pad like this otherwise it doesn’t stay in place on your shoulders when siting upright.This pad is weighted in an ideal fashion. The boarder edge of the pad is filled with a gravelly sand.The weight is evenly dispersed and the edges don’t get super hot.The cord is 7ft long which is a decent length (I prefer 10ft min).Control is easy to use and the 6 heat settings allow for great versatility to customize it to your liking.Because the cover is not removable, I lay a bandana down on my neck & then put the pad on top of that in an attempt to prevent “ring around the collar” staining. Especially when I let my bf borrow it.

This is a great heating pad for the neck, upper back shoulder and upper chest area. If it’s really well on a small person and also an a larger person. I like that it has six heat settings. You’re sure to find one that will fit your needs. I also like the auto shut off in case I fall asleep, which is pretty easy while wearing this.

I had Such High Hopes
I had such high hopes for this product. It’s actually a fantastic idea; if it can be properly executed. The pad seems to be well made. The material used for the cover is as soft and plush as it looks. The pad is generously sized, as well. No skimping there. It works in the sense that it heats up, the problem is it doesn’t get very warm; certainly not warm enough to provide therapeutic pain relief and that’s what it’s for. Since it’s so well made, it’s hard to believe they would drop the ball in the most important area. It’s entirely possible mine is a dud, but the cynic in me wonders if it is a fear of liability exposure if someone claims it burned them.I own two other heating pads. The first one I purchased is kind of small, say about 12” X “16 (approximation from memory), with a rough cover, and was inexpensive when I bought it about 15 years ago. It still works just fine. It has the usual 3 settings: low, medium, and high. I’m positive the high setting on this new neck pad is about the same as the low setting on my old one. The second heating pad I purchased about 8 years ago is definitely a deluxe model. It’s very large, about 18” X 24”, and the cover is made of the most incredibly soft, lush material imaginable. It’s practically faux fur. Its 3 heating settings at least match those of the first one I bought. Based on past experience and common sense expectations, I know this model isn’t sufficient. The only thing it could possible do is provide warmth on a cold day; warmth that provides comfort, not pain relief.Manufacturers advise against laying directly against a heating pad, even with the cover on, to ensure you don’t get burned. I am not advocating this, but I lay against mine all the time and did so with this one — it still wasn’t close to warm enough to ease pain. With both of my other pads, I’ll start on high, then have to turn them down to medium, then to low until the pain eased up enough. Sometimes I would need to repeat the cycle, depending on the severity of the pain. The point is high and medium are too hot to stay on for long, but they provide the pain relief I need in my back. This heating paid never gets hot enough to even reach medium, let alone high. As a lot of the.pain I experience is in my upper back and neck, I truly wish this pad could help me. Unfortunately, it cannot.

Nice but could be better
I have had a few of these types of heating pads and this one has been my least favorite. The pad is not fully weighted so you don’t feel the full benefits of the heat when it is on your shoulders. I did have to have it on the highest setting in order to feel the therapeutic benefits. Otherwise, the material does feel soft and cozy and I do like that it has a high collar so you do feel the heat on the neck. The quality of this one just feels a bit cheaper than some others that are only a few dollars more. This would not be my first choice but it works well enough.

Neck and upper back heat
I have nerve damage in my neck, and love my heating pads. This one solves the problem of them sliding off my neck and shoulders, and snaps in front of your neck to keep it in place. Even though not mentioned in the description, It feels lightly weighted when wearing it, but isn’t too heavy for longer wearing.The thermostat is easy to change, and the timer is nice and will automatically shut the heating pad off after the set time (which is nice if like me, you tend to lay down and fall asleep when using it). It heats in the neck as well as the shoulder/upper back area.The inside is grey, and the outside is a greenish color that isn’t nearly as vibrant and bright as the photos, but the color isn’t important to me.The cord is long enough for typical stationary use, but isn’t long enough to move around more than a foot or two from the plug.

Soft, comfy, and plenty of heat settings.
I really love this heated shoulder/neck pad! I have chronic neck and shoulder pain episodes and it’s difficult to find a good heating pad that will hit both areas in the right spots at the same time when the pain flares up. The slight weight helps me to relax and remind me to not hunch-up my shoulders when the ache settles in– so the muscle spasms and pain definitely seems to ease up faster than when I’ve used other heating products.It’s very soft and that just makes it even better! It seems to be very well-made and if it stands the test of time over the winter months it will be well worth ordering another one for travel or backup. In my opinion, the performance & quality justify the very reasonable cost.

heating is mediocre
I wanted to like this more, but the heat just didn’t get much more strong that mediocre. I mean, I guess that’s safer? But it doesn’t hit as strongly as I’d like. I do like the fact that it is washable though and clips together very well. the sizing is good for small/medium women.
